Masoomeh Sharifi-Soofiani

Masoomeh is a planner and project manager with a strong background in architecture. She has more than a decade of professional design experience, ranging from residential units and neighborhood developments to urban studies and planning. Masoomeh’s diverse work experience across the Bay Area and City of Tehran includes regional plans, street adaptations, urban infills, historic rehabilitations, cultural and residential projects, office and higher education remodel projects, and government tenant improvement projects.

Masoomeh designs inclusive and equitable habitats and urban spaces that reflect and encompass the diversity and needs of their inhabitants. She believes that the uniqueness of every context needs to be addressed in the project approach, guided by the principal that studying the context and identifying the needs and culture of the stakeholders within the communities through a participatory design process is the key to a successful urban design.

Masoomeh was a previous employee at Interactive Resources in 2014 to 2016, and she is a member of the City of Richmond Planning Commission. She holds a Master of Urban Design from UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design, and a master in Architecture from Iran.
