Davidson Middle School is a sixth- through eighth-grade school serving approximately 1,200 students, located in central San Rafael, California. The San Rafael City Schools district retained the services of Interactive Resources, Inc. to provide forensic architectural design services for roof replacement, flashing and waterproofing systems. Our firm has decades of experience working with public schools and has successfully provided design and construction administration services for dozens of K-12 projects.
The first phase of the project included an assessment of existing conditions, structural evaluation and code analysis, followed by production of site and roof plans and recommendations to address deficiencies. Phase two involved removing the existing roof membrane system from low-slope and steep slope roofs to expose the substrate; making necessary modifications and repairs to the existing substrate to accommodate the new roof membrane system, and providing a new membrane system. Our work also included accommodating the extensive above-roof ducting in the Administration wing and replacing the improperly designed built-in gutter systems for both the Administration and Classroom buildings.
“Extremely Satisfied —Ed Anisman did a great job, good work Ed!”
— Dan Zaich, San Rafael City Schools
