The County of Marin selected Interactive Resources to conduct a facility condition assessment (FCA) of its Civic Center campus in San Rafael, California, based on our expertise with similar projects — having performed hundreds of FCAs for the public and private sectors. The buildings assessed included the Auditorium, the Exhibit Hall, Showcase Theater, Concession Building, Meeting Rooms and the Fairgrounds. The purpose of the FCA was to evaluate building envelopes and all general building systems for maintenance/upgrades to existing systems, inspect and analyze the overall structural condition of the facilities, assess accessibility and code related items for violation and upgrade/compliance recommendations, and to evaluate mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for code related violations and to recommend upgrades.

We compiled a five volume report of our findings and recommendations for repair, maintenance, as well as cost estimates for the repairs and upgrades. This analysis will be utilized as a tool for the County and Cultural Services Administration to determine appropriate options for current and future uses for the facility.
