A leading bio-pharmaceutical manufacturer engaged Interactive Resources, Inc. to explore design concepts for an onsite food service facility within the corporate campus in Hercules, California. After meeting with the client to discuss various design concepts, our firm provided schematic design and construction documents for the new Venture Café and kitchen. The café offers healthy dining and a convenient, comfortable environment to employees within the office complex. Recent studies show that that companies who offered onsite dining for their employees saved them between 30 and 60 minutes during lunchtime.

The Venture Café is an addition within an existing speculative office building. The break room and adjacent unfinished storage areas were improved to incorporate a new kitchen, servery, and dining area.  The design included mechanical, electrical, and plumbing modifications for the new food prep, cooking, kitchen, servery, washing, and refrigerated storage areas. Provisions for trash and restrooms ensured compliance with the local health and building departments. The dining area was improved with an accessible service counter and pay station, plus accessible seating. Architectural finishes were selected for durability and ease of cleaning. Our firm’s services also included permitting, construction documents, and construction administration.
