It is with great sadness that we share the news of Sabrina Kurita’s passing, following a hard-fought battle with breast cancer. Sabrina was our friend and colleague for more than a quarter of a century, and the sense of loss we share with all who knew and loved her is profound.
As our Office Manager and Contracts Specialist, Sabrina was the heart and backbone of our firm. There was no aspect of our business that she did not play a part in. In addition to day-to-day operations, she was brilliant at Construction Administration, particularly for complex school projects, and often detected and headed off issues of significance that required specialized expertise. The breadth of her skills, combined with her work ethic and tenacity, were unmatched, and her value to our firm cannot be overstated.
Sabrina could accomplish more during her morning hot chocolate with whipped cream than some do in a full workday, and she cut though any foolishness or shirking of responsibility with a single gaze. As tough as she was, she was equally warm and generous. She often took co-workers out to lunch on their birthdays, and if she noticed a person in uniform dining, she’d pay their bill, too.
Sabrina is survived by her husband Gregg, her son Justin, grandsons Karter and Killian, her mother and stepfather Benita and Larry Figg, and many siblings. We greatly miss and warmly remember her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in Sabrina’s honor.
