Sonoma County, Department of Emergency Management, Community Emergency Resilience Sites

The County of Sonoma requires the construction of three Community Emergency Resilience Sites (CERS) at separate locations to support long-term disaster resilience. The operational support facilities will support dynamic community-level disaster response for the Sonoma Operational Area and serve as energy resilient community coordinating centers. As part of Interactive Resources’ on-call services contract, the County retained us to provide architectural and engineering design services concept design for the three sites for Phase 1. Read More

We are wrapping up a major capital improvements program for the Northern California Carpenters Regional Council (NCCRC) headquarters in Oakland, California. It’s great to see to see the finishing touches come together! The NCCRC union represents more than 38,000 carpenters, pile drivers, millwrights, cabinet makers, drywallers and workers in associated trades. Read More

Annual gift giving to those in need has been a holiday tradition at Interactive Resources for many years. This year, we worked with Richmond-based GRIP (Greater Richmond Interfaith Program), which provides emergency shelter and transitional housing for families with children, among other vital programs. Through donations of time and money from our staff, we were able to purchase and deliver gifts for the shelter’s 46 children residents, ranging in age from less than one to 17-years. Pastries for the GRIP’s 50 staff members and volunteers accompanied Santa’s delivery. Read More

Michelle Obama Elementary School’s Virtual Grand Opening to be held October 29th

Earlier this month, construction was completed on the brand new Michelle Obama Elementary School campus in Richmond, California. The new school is designed by Gould Evans and constructed by Overaa Construction. This Thursday, October 29th at 11am, the school will open its doors, virtually, for a grand opening celebration and tour on Facebook Live. We are proud to have had a role in the transformation of this school, and look forward to the state-of-the-art learning environment it will provide to our community’s families. Read More

In collaboration with the AIA East Bay, we recently hosted a site tour of one of our dispensary projects, 7 Stars Holistic Healing Center. This project entailed the renovation and conversion of an existing office building in Richmond, California into a beautiful high-end cannabis dispensary, opening to the public next month. Read More

Tomorrow, Saturday, June 1st, we play host to an open-house pop-up exhibit of kids' art from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Artist and teacher Camille Zulpo's 23 students have transformed our front lobby and conference rooms into a colorful display of vibrant creativity. The young local artists, who range in age from second to seventh grade, are students in Camille's KIDS’ ART program, which she runs from her home studio in Point Richmond. Read More

Welcome Back, Jamie Brown!

We are enjoying the temporary return to Interactive Resources of Jamie Brown, who left California about two years ago to fulfill an adventure/dream of teaching English in Japan. Jamie is a California licensed architect, a black belt in Kung Fu, and an accomplished musician, among other endeavors. She is multilingual (fluent in Japanese, Mandarin, English and Revit!). Interactive Resources would like to announce the addition of Michael Hannah to our Architectural Division. Michael is a Licensed Architect in California and a LEED Accredited Professional with more than 16 years of experience. He has also been a Lecturer and Architecture Design Studio Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley. Michael currently serves on the City of Richmond’s Design Review Board. Read More

Holiday Giving

Annual gift giving to those in need has been a company holiday tradition for many years. For the second year in recent history, we have worked with schools impacted by Northern California wildfires. This year, we donated art supplies to the Anova Center for Education in Santa Rosa, which was completely demolished by the Tubbs Fire. The Anova Center is a non-profit provider of services for children living with autism and learning differences. Its 125 students, ranging from ages 5 to 22, are being served in three temporary locations for the next few months. Read More

Alten Construction recently moved into its newly renovated headquarters within the Kaiser Shipyards Historic District of Richmond's Marina Bay neighborhood. Interactive Resources was the architect and structural engineer of record for the project, overseeing design, permitting, and construction support for the full restoration of this historic early industrial-modern factory. We worked with Alten Construction as part of the design-build team. Read More
