Our client Sunterra Solar is one of California’s premier commercial solar power contractors, and we have had the opportunity to work on dozens of solar array projects with them. A recent collaboration called for structural engineering services for the design of support framing for a single canopy solar array located at the Romberg Tiburon center for Environmental Studies at 3150 Paradise Drive in Tiburon, California. Our engineers prepared structural calculations for the design of the racking system, including supporting rails and connections, supporting structural steel frames, and foundations. Construction documents and specifications were also prepared for the structural steel and cold-formed framing members, concrete foundations, structural testing and inspection requirements and design criteria used for the racking.
