Staff Profiles: Andrew Butt, AIA, LEED AP BD+C

Andrew has been a lead designer, project manager and project architect for more than 19 years, and as Principal and Director of Design at Interactive Resources, brings a combination of design excellence and technical expertise to each project.

Andrew is a hands-on project manager, believing strongly in a fully-integrated team approach to both the design and management of a project. He was a driving force in the decision for Interactive Resources to be an early adopter of BIM technology, and has constantly championed leveraging the most current technology available for project management and project coordination across a consultant team and between the client and design team.

A LEED Accredited Professional and Certified Green Building Professional, Andrew approaches each project with a mindful eye toward sustainable design and energy and material sensitivity that blends both eye-catching architectural design and high-performing, healthy spaces for the people who interact with them.

Model-Making and Computer Visualization Expertise

Mr. Butt can utilize a variety of 3D and 2D CAD programs including Form Z, 3D Studio Viz, Microstation, Autocad, Photoshop, and Revit. He is well versed with large-scale detailed architectural models and is capable of manipulating computer streetscape models and renderings. He created computer models and renderings for multiple projects at renowned northern California Wineries and completed 3D building design analysis for a 24,000 square foot industrial building.

More about Andrew

On the personal side...

In his free time, Andrew indulges in a host of interests including carpentry, furniture-making, sailing, mountain biking, fly-fishing, backpacking, rock climbing, home-brewing, volunteering for various "good causes" including restoration of East Brother Light Station, and tutoring 6th graders at a local elementary school. He has also been an active promoter and organizer of the Point Richmond Free Summer Concert Series. Andrew also enjoys hanging out with his wife, Kimberly, their two children and their dog Louie.
